A Nurse's Prayer (+) Give me strength and wisdom, When others need my touch; A soothing word to speak to them, Their hearts yearn for so much. Give me joy and laughter, To lift a weary soul; Pour in me compassion, To make the broken whole. Give me gentle healing hands, For those left in my care; A blessing to those who need me, This is a Nurse's Prayer.
~ Allison Chambers Coxsey 1997 Breaths (+) Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take But by the moments that take our breath away.
~ Unknown Dance (+) Dance as though no one is watching you, Love as though you have never been hurt before, Sing as though no one can hear you, Live as though heaven is on earth.
~ Unknown Don't Quit (+) When things go wrong as they sometimes will; When the road you're trudging seems all uphill; When the funds are low, and the debts are high And you want to smile, but have to sigh; When care is pressing you down a bit- Rest if you must, but do not quit. Success is failure turned inside out; The silver tint of the clouds of doubt; And you can never tell how close you are It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit- It's when things go wrong that you must not quit.
~ Unknown | Dreams (+) The dreams we never dare to dream, Are dreams that won't come true; Just like a ship without a port, No place to come home to. Without a destination, They sail into the wind; Aimlessly to wander, To look for home again. The dreams we never dare to dream, Are dreams that have no life; They wither there in sorrow, And die upon the vine. A flower without promise, Its blossom bruised and torn; Kissed in vain by sunlight's warmth, Lies lifeless and forlorn. But if the dreams we dare to dream, Even when we stand alone, Are guided and are nourished, Those dreams will find a home. A final destination, The ship in from the wind; And the flower that lay dying, Will blossom in the end.
~ Allison Chambers Coxsey 1996 Faith (+) Faith is as a tiny seed, Planted deep within the soul; Nourished by a trust in God, The seed begins to grow. Quietly it opens, Like a fragrant, blooming flower; Roots reach out to find a home, Enriched by God's great power. There so deep within the soul, Faith becomes a vine; The roots grow deep within the heart, Each tendril entertwined. Then like a tranquil garden, Filled with sweet perfume; Faith blooms forth is color, From every fragrant bloom. Then as the season's come and go, And blooms begin to die; There still is life within the soul, From the seed of faith inside.
~ Allison Chambers Coxsey 1996 Face To The Sunshine (+) Keep your face to the sunshine And you will not see the shadow.
~ Helen Keller Rainbow (+) The only way to see a rainbow Is to look through the rain.
