I'm tired, lonely and quite worn today.
My heart is so heavy, my mind needs a break.
I listen to the wind and watch the snow fall.
No chance of a hug, a kiss or a call.
I reach for my blanket and wrap myself tight.
A feeling of warmth and I realize it's alright.
The angels have spoken in their soft, gentle voices
Calling me closer to ponder my choices.
I smile as I picture my sister's sweet face
When she gave me this blanket wrapped up in lace.
And she said:
"I wish you the stars, the moon and the sky,
I wish you true love and dreams that will fly.
This blanket will hold you in times of despair
The angels will comfort you, when I can not be there."
And so I rely on this wonderful gift
A blanket, a sister and the angels who lift.
